傳說為藥師如來化身的白猿所發現，自古以來即以具有風濕與神經痛之高度療效的溫泉治療場聞名。如同長門湯本溫泉，於江戶時代時即為藩主會特地造訪的有名溫泉治療場。
泉質 : 鹼性單純溫泉 PH9.8 透明無色、無味、輕微硫磺臭
功效 : 風濕、神經痛、肌肉痠痛、關節痛、恢復疲勞、增進健康等
特色 : 泉水溶解了豐富的氫，擁有高度還原能力，對風濕與神經痛具有療效。
擁有濃厚的古早溫泉治療場風情，旅館內幾乎都未附設溫泉，故身著浴衣的住宿旅客們踩著木屐嘎達嘎達地步往浴場的景象則成為一番特殊風情。
富含高濃度氫而擁有高度還原力（抗氧化作用）的泉質，被視為具有風濕、神經痛、預防文明病及抗老等功效。帶有黏滑感的泉水，泡過後的肌膚將變得水潤。
