To Tainei-ji Temple, popular for its cherry blossoms and autumn foliage
Tainei-ji Temple’s grounds are rich with the legends of Muromachi Period (1336-1573) warlord Ouchi Yoshitaka, but also make for a lovely spot for refreshing nature walks.
Don’t just taste Nagato’s famous yakitori: try making it yourself, from cutting the meat, to fashioning your own skewers, to the grilling itself (Classes will begin in June).
Japan’s little Colosseum, Akasaki Shrine’s Natural Amphitheater
Just outside Akasaki Shrine, this bowl-shaped natural amphitheater is a nationally-designate Important Tangible Cultural Property. Stand where performances are still held each year, and let out a call!
