This onsen is unavailable for overnight stays, but visitors can still enjoy lovely nighttime sights from the baths, like Nagato's famous squid boat lights on the bay.
The onsen's name, "Kiwado" (literally, "door of the yellow wave"), comes from a local story, according to which a sacred object from nearby Heki Hachimangu Shrine appeared from the sea, carried atop a yellow wave.
Hot spring type/quality : Alkaline simple hot spring with a PH of 9.4. Clear and colorless, slight sulfuric odor.
Therapeutic effects : Nerve pain, sore muscles, joint pain, etc.
