Yasuo Kazuki Museum

Genre : Museums

Area : Misumi

This museum boasts some of the great works of modern painter Yasuo Kazuki, including his "Siberia Series."

Painter Yasuo Kazuki was born in Nagato, and today is most well-known for his "Siberia Series," which was born out of his internment in Sibera following Japan's defeat in WWII.
Pieces on display at the museum include paintings lent from the Kazuki family's carefully preserved collection following the painter's death.
The museum also includes a reproduction of Yasuo Kazuki's studio as it would have looked during his lifetime, and a special exhibition of the artist's personal collection of Picasso and Roualt paintings, which is held three times a year.
